Miley Cyrus is the worst role model for children today.
And there are several reasons for that.

(I'm gonna copy a post I made a while back, the points remain true)

Miley Cyrus is definitely different from the rest of Disney's stars. Hell, even most celebrities are quite different from her. Most of the Disney celebrities work hard to maintain the flawless image of the perfect role model to children, in what some people might consider as fakeness or lack of sincerity. Yet it works, as only those truly into these stars would end up recognizing character flaws (Ex. Demi Lovato's bulling habits, only to those who read the article on OceanUp). Most of the audience of the Disney Channel is shielded from that image. Yet Miley Cyrus behaves as a role model in a VERY different way.

I believe she truly lacks emotional intelligence, as she always wears her heart under her sleeve. That, along with her extroverted personality means she can be considered relatable by children. That's why she is so marketable by Disney.

But her openness is also her biggest flaw. Being so open means she cannot control herself at times, especially regarding her own sexuality. Nick Jonas, Lucas Till, Justin Gaston. You can tell this girl can't say no to a hot guy (Except, maybe to the things she might consider sacred, like sex, yet that hormonal mentality of hers means even that could be broken).
But there is another thing, when she sees a hot guy, she is the aggressive one. That's because, as a result of her early fame and family background, she truly sees herself as an incredibly good-looking girl: good-looking enough to constantly photograph herself and even upload the pics to the Internet in social networking sites. It's evident that this woman at some level worships herself (most likely subconsciously - it is not an uncommon syndrome). That is perfectly explained by the fact that this girl has always been treated as a goddess, first by her parents and later by the Disney fandom. That's why she seems so confident at all times, confident enough to refuse to wear makeup at every second or never recur to defending every single action. With that confidence and independence (product of her selfishness) she treats the media as a professional, talking straight and to the point while not looking too mature in the process, unlike let say JoJo some years back.

That truly makes an "interesting" personality that girls can identify as relatable, independent, strong or admirable. Yet being self-centered also means she is unapologetical and conceited. She will always consider her interests as a priority and is stubborn in defending her decisions.
She has stated over and over again that she will never change. That's why there were so many picture leaks at one point, she at first saw no wrongdoing in them (I still believe she feels no wrongdoing, as she has never truly apologized for anything other than the Vanity Fair Scandal, and she took that back months later). That's why she defends her relationship with Justin Gaston even though she knows he might be using her. It's very hard to convince her wrong. That's why I am baffled as half of the children on Western Society(or at least here) seem to defend her even though she makes far more mistakes than anyone else, and even worse, doesn't seem to care at all. The other young stars I remember that had such personalities are Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, and Miley seems to be following their traits.

That behavior might bring respect from the teenage fandom, but that is in no way how the world most influential children role model should behave. As we can see in the interviews, she truly isn't the brightest one and might not even realize the extent of her responsibilities as a Disney star, or at least how they reflect on her behavior. I consider that a selfish girl that permanently hides between her extraversion to promote herself without consideration of the social consequences of her decisions to be one of the fakest and most irresponsible types of personalities there is, and as a result is not worth of either respect or admiration. Well, at least she won’t last long as her days on the Mega Corporation that created her are counted.

Yet she repeatedly stated that she believed the subject was blown out of proportion, even implying that the society was just uptight. Recently she said that she was SO inspired by the Vanity Fair photo shoot that she wanted to study photography in England. SUM IT UP! Obviously she has always believed that the scandal was blown way out of proportion and there was nothing wrong with the pictures -If Disney hadn't released a statement she would have NEVER changed her original position. That was the same stubborn opinion she maintained at first about the picture leaks -that there was nothing wrong with them, that she is bound to grow up and make mistakes, and just "be herself" - Respectable, except her behavior IS bound for severe mistakes, which then translate to the millions of girls that love her.
