The Wannabes Disney Channel Casting
Disney Channel sitcom 'The Wannabes' will begin filming in Detroit, Michigan next month.
The main actors featured in the half-hour tween sitcom are from the real-life Disney pop sensation 'Savvy'. They are desperate to become pop stars,
But attend a strict arts academy boarding school where they are only able
to stick to the classics like ballet, instrumental music and Shakespeare.
After being punished to work in a local café, the teens meet the owner's daughter who talks her dad into letting the academy students rock out at the café, but they have to keep their identities a secret by wearing disguises.
The series is directed by Eric Dean Seaton who has worked on 'Hannah Montana', 'Sonny with a Chance' and 'The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.' Casting call if for youth between the ages of 9 and 15, with acting experience or ballet ability. More information @ Acting Info.

Wow, a whole new batch of actors/actresses coming to Disney. It's kind of good, but kind of isn't. The show sounds lame, and I'm not used to change. But it's good because Disney has been using the same stars over and over again, as you can tell in their new movies like Hatching Pete and Dadknapped and PPP soon.

lol Really Disney? We need ANOTHER show about wannabe pop stars. Ugh I don't watch disney anymore really so I really have no reason to complain. It's not like i'm watching this stuff but it's annoying nonetheless. Disney never bothers to do shows about real kids anymore. Even stevens, lizzie mcguire, In a heartbeat, bug juice, boy meets world (BEST DISNEY SHOW EVER BTW). All those shows were normal kids. They weren't magical or superstars. They were just kids. And that was more than entertaining enough for me. All this materialism disney is feeding kids is disgusting. Not EVERYONE grows up to become a pop star and Disney is making it seem like that's the only career worth caring about or aspiring to. Nothing is about real life, it's all about an unobtainable life of glamor or priviliage. It's truly sickening.

Wizards + Hannah + Phil Of The Future + That's so Raven + ORIGINAL Jonas pilot = secrets
Hannah + Jonas + Sonny With A Chance = famous people

I loved The Jersey, Lizzie, and Even Stevens because they were ORIGINAL! Lizzie and Even Stevens were also relatable!
Apparently Wizards does NOT "pown" all shows right now or Wizards would have the #1 ratings on the channel, oh wait, Wizards is Second while Hannah Montana is STILL number ONE! Sorry, you and many other people may prefer Wizards over all other shows, but HANNAH still has full ownage by majority.

Not EVERYONE grows up to become a pop star and Disney is making it seem like that's the only career worth caring about or aspiring to. Nothing is about real life, it's all about an unobtainable life of glamor or priviliage. It's truly sickening.

Yay! I auditioned for this... not sure of the outcome yet, tho. I'll probably be an Extra, if lucky... one of my friends who auditioned probs has a part, tho. Yay, her! :]
how was the auditions? like what was it like?
There were more than a 1000 of us there. We stood in a line outside of the hotel it was taking place at for about an hr and a half (it was raining), and then stood inside the hotel in a line for about another hr and a half. After that, they had us fill out forms explaining our acting experience and stuff. After that, they entered the info into the "Wannabes" database, and took headshots of us. It was supremely fun to me, but my dad (who waited half of that time with me) didn't exactly enjoy it. Lol.
I was there and I had a blast! 7 action news was there, people were so nice, I even learned a lot! I dont think I'm going to get a callback though, but oh well? win some, lose some.
