I think that, they are loosing YOUNGER fans, because they no longer hit that bubble-gum pop mark. They hit a more mature, harder aspect in music. Still not real 'rock' but closer. Maybe 2 albums from now they will be there and the true for-the-music fans with be there with them to help bask in the glory of mainstream.

i'm a huge fan, and like many of their fans i bought their album the first week it came out. fans aren't gonna buy multiple albums, that's just not conducive to the economy and, well it's kind of pointless. everyone is spending money on their tour, which is quite expensive. the tour is sold out, so maybe fans just can't afford an album on top of that. this fading business is just crap.
