I was actually watching that 'Tinkerbell' movie while babysitting my younger cousin the other day. The movie finished and the credits started to roll. I was about to shut it off, until my little cousin nearly attacked me to the ground because she wanted to hear the song. So I let that play through, and decided that it was a really cute song, but didn't know who the singer was. So I followed the credits just to find out who was singing. And come to my surprise, it's none other then Ms. Selena Gomez. I actually thought the song was really nice. I'm sure the song was layered a bit but it I sounded pretty raw being that you could hear imperfections here and there. But overall I thought she sung really well. I was actually surprised given how many people make a point to say how she can't sing at all. So if she ever was a "bad" singer, she has certainly improved. Not sure why she is given such a hard time, but well done from my standpoint.

Well I listened to a couple of other clips of her since then and I definitely hear similaries; she certainly has a unique sound now that I've actually taken time to listen. But as I said, I do think that song was one of the closest to her, I have heard. Because even in the song you can hear imperfections. But still very well done. It may just be your own personal bias that she has a 'boring' voice but I honestly do think she held her own and sung it nicely.

second of all, she NEVER said that she'll "stick to acting". i've been a huge fan of her for like two years and I've done tons of research and she NEVER said that she'll stick to singing. the only thing she said was that she wants to try new things and challenge herself.

and third of all, selena already signed the record deal. it's too late, she can't just change her mind and turn back now. her album will be released this september. so obviously, "stick to acting" is easier said than done.
