Okay let me explain myself.
I'm a college student that is majoring in Psychology, and am currently working on an experiment for one of my classes.
I have a younger step-sister who is 13 and is overly obsessed about everything that goes on in the land of the rich and famous. If I every say anything slightly rude or "disrespectful" about some of her favorite stars, she flips out on me. She acts like like these people are Gods of some sort.
So for my project I decided to see what kind of effect celebrities have on the general population of society.
Based on my younger sisters actions I had come up with the following hypothesis:
If a male/female's favorite celebrity is insulted or given negative feedback, then that male/female, will fight back with harsh words until they get the winning hand over the opposite person.
I've been going on various sites, E!, Perez, Just Jared, Just Jared JR., Oceanup, IMBD, and other site that I may come across, and have been posting rude and hateful comments. I go on the different sites because they all range in age difference by the users.
Sometimes, I just post simple comments like bashing on their outfit or just stating my opinion on them, making sure it's a negative comment, whether I like them or not. Sometimes, I go all out and post extremely rude and disrespectful comments. I do these different types of comments to see the different reactions I get from people and write down the data.
Again, sorry if i offended anyone, I'm just doing an experiment for college, and did not mean any harm.

Because I don't see how you can make any correlations or even operationalize the effect of negative comments when you don't know the population sample you are working with. I understand how anonymous feedback would be beneficial but your project will be significantly ineffective if you know nothing about the sample you are using.

Nom you are completeness correct. At first, when I was in the planning stages of the experiment, I was just going to go with the outcomes of what I got from the various people on the different sites. I figured that the sites like OceanUp, and Just Jared JR. would have consisted of people between the ages of 12-18 while Perez and E! and other such various sites, would have an older audience. I knew of course that there would be some exceptions.
However after talking over my experiment with my professor, I decided that I should also interview some individuals that I know nuch more about, rather then people on the internet.
I have interviewed and collected data from my step-sister and some of her friends that I see quite often. I've also been baby-sitting the younger children that live next door to me for around a year and half, so I've grown to know them quite well. My step-mom is also a secondary teacher, who teaches the sixth grade. I figured that I could also use some of her students as my samples.
I of course had to go through the process of asking the principle for permission, and then after I got the okay from him, I proceeded to send out a permission form to the students in my step-mothers class, just so their parents could see the questions I would be asking their child, and if they would allow it.
So I have two separate groups. I have the group from the internet, who I have no biographical background on what so ever, and then I have the group where I either know the kids fairly well (my step-sister and some of her close friends, that I have the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with), the children that I baby-sit, and the children in my step-mothers class room that agreed to answer my questions.

In 7th grade I met another girl. The first girl warned me about her but I didn't listen. This second girl and I became the best of friend. I told her about EVERYTHING! I always told her who I liked, what happened that I hid for everyone. She was my biggest confider. Everything was told to her. In 8th grade she dated my ex right after me. She pierced her belly button, right after me. She bought a sweatshirt, right after me. In 9th grade we had a falling out. I gave this kid I liked a rose, anonymously and a huge argument that I didn't start but got blamed for pursued. She gave my number the the kid so he could prank call me. I month later I gave her a hug and when I walked away, she told someone she hated me. That girl later became my friend and told me. We don't talk anymore. Also in 9th grade I met another girl. We had so much more in common. We were best friends instantly. Something happened and we aren't friends anymore. And that's as far as I can go before you start to think I'm lying.
