Disney does have a formula. That's true enough. But JB did it backwards cause they were a band first & made cds first. Then they did Camp Rock & the show. Where as everyone else on Disney started on tv shows & DCOMs, and then got turned into recording artists. Though Demi & Miley have kind of always done music along with acting. HM is music based & When the Bell Rings(or whatever the shows name was Demi was on) usually had Demi singing.

Time Magazine did a piece focusing on Disney’s formula and the steps they now take to ensure their stars stick around (and Disney profits of them more) in “Making New Mileys: Disney’s Teen-Star Factory”.

The article begins with Good Luck, Charlie star Bridgit Mendler, who is being touted as Disney’s “Next Big Thing”. Time says:

“Mendler is following a path to fame the channel has mapped over the past three years as it has launched serial stars into orbit: the supernova Miley Cyrus in 2006, Selena Gomez in 2007, the Jonas Brothers in 2008 and Demi Lovato this year.”

The article is very interesting, and worth a read. It definitely highlights how Disney does its best to make money off their young stars. One thing I did not know is Disney has now implemented a “Talent 101? seminar for their upcoming teen stars (note: this seminar is for the stars of Disney who have shows that have not aired yet). According to Time, “It includes instruction from security experts, media-relations consultants and psychologists.”

It does not surprise me at all that Disney is now taking further steps to teach and mold their young stars, especially the lengths they are taking to keep up the Disney squeaky clean image. Disney’s first super successes, Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez, are most likely going to be moving on from the Mouse House within the next 12 months, more or less. Disney needs to find a new set of stars (Mendler and perhaps Debby Ryan) to fill the void left by Miley and Selena.

the question is.. will little kids(majority of her fans) still like her and her new projects? since they all started liking her because of hannah montana. little kids are the reason for her success.. without them she wouldn't be this far. AND without hannah montana. maybe they're grow with her and maybe they'll grow out of her and not like her anymore once they grow up.

Madonna can sing my dad was saying about how you should have heard her back in the day. Same with britney i found this video of when britney was 8 and damn that girl had some pipes on her. But since then she kinda wnet downhill but it don't really matter because the whole point of the director comparing her with Madonna is that madonna is the best selling female artist if all time worldwide think about that...

but as you said, someone new comes in when some else is on their way out. i dont mean HM is coming to a close only in terms of episodes. i mean in terms of interest. HM had a good run but up and coming kids are going to start lookin for something new, back to their age again. its nothing bad. but this would be the time the shift starts to be made.

why does everyone think that any new girl can replace Miley? They think Selena would, but she didn't. They think Demi would, and she didn't either. Now they think Briget would...and I'm saying she won't. Period. Miley is Miley and no one would ever be like her. And in the words of Joe Jonas: "No one is as famous as Miley Cyrus"

If I were a 16 year old girl, I would not even consider Disney until Miley left. As long as she's there, these girls will be in her shadow. Disney needs to wait until Miley is an adult and out of disney before they start grooming the replacement.

I think Miley's gonna be just like HDuff. After Disney drops her, it's over. She'll do some "indie" movies to prove her "cred", and a few more "mature" albums, but this is really the height of her career right now.

Miley is not following Hilary's footsteps dough What Hilary done she was kinda dumb she thought doing loads of non-disney movies will get you respect well she was wrong MOST of the non-disney movie hilary don't floped. I would say Miley is following Lindsey's career doing disney movies so disney can still support her wait till she can make it on her own and then go. Disney got VERY big since HSM&HM soo now they know how to get ratings, viewers etc etc.

Disney has such a strong and smart management. DISNEY itself is BIG, they get at least a million per day from JB,Miley, DISNEY WORLDS, Selena, Demi etc.

But i dont believe that Melder will replays MIley..no one can. But I dont like her, she doesnt seem so special, she has this simple look that just doesnt grab your attention. but i do think people will watch her, b/c disney is gonna let her be 'friends' with Miley, or have a 'fued' with her OR let her hang with JB, like that they are 'dating'. It's PG-13 rated horror movies that flop, not dramas. Jennifer's Body for example. I think the Last Song is expected to do well because the release date was moved from the dumping ground(January) to around Easter weekend.
