Jemma McKenzie Dropped From HSM4
Jemma McKenzie-Brown will not be in the next installment of High School Musical. Jemma, who played Tiara Gold in High School Musical 3, is now auditioning for other roles. She said:
'I think it's been decided they're going for a whole new route with it which is a shame but I had a really good time doing the third one. I'm back to auditioning and have got some cool opportunities and good scripts so hope something..
..comes up! When I'm 16 and have left school I can start concentrating on other stuff and in ten years time I'll hopefully have a film or two under my belt but I love theatre too so that would be fun.'
Costar Matt Prokop recently announced that he will not be taking part in the
next film, while other new Wildcat Justin Martin's fate has yet to be revealed.
Private High Musical MTV HSM Parody
MTV is developing a weekly series, Private High Musical, which will parody
Disney's High School Musical. Private High Musical, is based on an online series and may debut on MTV in Fall as a half hour show, according to HR.
MTV's head of programming Tony DiSanto revealed that they developing a number of scripted half-hour projects.: 'We're going to apply the same tenets of creativity and genre-busting to scripted comedy that 'Laguna Beach' used to makeover the documentary.
..It makes sense as a progression for us when a lot of our shows like 'Run's House' and 'The Hills' look scripted to start going forward with actual scripted shows.'
PHM Tayrn Souther added: 'I've always been an avid musical fan, and when Disney's 'High School Musical' became this big phenomenon, I thought it was funny that nobody ever did a musical that told how high school really was.'
High School Musical 4 PLOT DETAILS

..and underscored the strength of Disney Channel and Radio Disney's connection to kids, tweens and families. High School Musical 4 brings the franchise back to television in a music and dance-filled Disney Channel Original Movie that will introduce a new cast of characters.
It is scheduled to begin production later this year for premiere on Disney Channel in 2010. The announcement was made today by Gary Marsh, president, entertainment, Disney Channels Worldwide.
Gary: 'The High School Musical trilogy introduced a new generation to the celebrated genre of movie musicals. In crafting this next iteration, we've challenged the entire creative team to raise the bar again, and create something truly worthy of this extraordinary global phenomenon.'

High School Musical 4 CONFIRMED
High School Musical 4 will be a Disney Channel Original Movie featuring a new cast. Production will begin this year and premiere on Disney Channel in 2010.
Peter Barsocchini, who wrote the first three, returns as screenwriter. Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush are also back as executive producers. Disney did not say whether Kenny Ortega would return as director.
The new cast list has not been released as of yet.
The plot follows a love story and the cross-town rivalry between East High Wildcats & West High Knights.

'Since doing HSM3 I've gone from getting auditions for radio plays to getting auditions for films. It's like, 'We're considering Tom Cruise for the role of the father,' and I'm thinking, 'Oh God, this is crazy.''
Jemma on Miley Cyrus: 'It's strange when people compare me to Miley, because she's such a massive star.
It'd be amazing to be as successful as her but it's just nice to be classed in the same category. It's just too huge. Everything is really surreal, it hasn't sunk in yet. You have to step back. It's crazy, it's not something you ever imagine happening to you.'
