You guys are really immature, nobody cares about Demi or Selena or Miley. This post is about teen pregnancy.
IMHO, I think a reason why the rate is so high is b/c the US are such prudes! Example: Oceanup. The majority are of you are from the US and just look at these comments. A lot of you act like sex is the worst thing in the world.
It's sort of "embarrassing" to go out and get condoms and birth control when it shouldn't. Sex is not "trashy" or "eww, gross". It's a natural thing, it brought YOU to this world. I think the US should be MUCH more open minded b/c advocating abstinence? That is NEVER going to happen, we're all a hormonal bunch and it's always been like that.
More protection should be given out, education. And I think abortion should be legal, I know it's terrible and all, but that's my personal opinion. But in real life, I know people SHOULD have it and they are just not ready to take care of their children, and let it be their personal choice! And from I've heard, an abortion is very painful, so I am sure after experiencing that they will be very careful the next time.

Having sex is not trashy, and I am a virgin. Some people are ready for it, some are not. I just want more people to be educated on it, and not just the physical part, but the emotional part of it. Do it with someone you really know and love, I'm sure it'll feel better, too.
I disagree, I don't think sex makes a relationship stronger. I agree with that it does change the relationship, though. You can't tie someone down with sex, haha.
And to the first poster here, you DO have an opinion, you just gave it out. Haha, the ones without a real opinion are the ones talking about Demi or Selena. Who cares, this is not about them!

I didn't say sex is a bad thing. if people don't have sex, then you & I shouldn't be here then. But usually it's better if you will have sex only to the person who will be with you forever, which is your husband/wife. And at least you used condom or what, what if you became pregnant at 16? I'd bet you'll cry.

I would cry I know it... but just because I have sex does not mean i will get pregnant, I use contraception. Yes i know it is not 100% reliable but I don't live worrying about what would happen if I might get pregnant. I also don't believe in no sex before marriage...so like I said everyone is different and have different opinions on the matter.
so many ignorant young people on this post. the ones calling people "whores" for making a very human mistake are probably the ones that are going to end up in this situation due to their obliviousness to the real world. some people wrap it up, act smart, and don't sleep with just anyone and still end up pregnant. it's fine if you chose not to take that risk, but others do and turn out just fine.

im pretty sure being 'sexually repressed' would not decrease out STD or pregnant rate. actually i am almost guarantee it wouldn't. why? because people still be teenagers and they would still be irresponsible.

That ONE guy proves nothing. Obviously there are guys that just want sex out there but come on not 75% of them. Guys do get scared when their girlfriends get pregnant but not all of them are cowards and leave their girl...I have a few friends that have children and their boyfriends have stuck around and supported them.

yea i've heard guys say even before sleeping with the girl that he wished she would just sleep with him because then he would be able to love her more. i was like oh damn that. if you need sex to 'love' me, you have got to go. and the sad thing is many girls don't see that about guys. they think it was a mututal decision, but they'll never know how the guy looked at the matter. there are all to many guys who want the goods but knowing that a girl would give it up, is exactly what makes them not want a legit relationship with that person. guys are a trip. but of course, "it changes nothing." psh. yea right.

I actually went to school with one of the girls and she genuinely is a good person. Having sex yes probably isnt the best choice but it doesn't make you a bad person. You guys need grow up and realize people make mistakes. You've all made mistakes and while they may not be this life changing, no one is perfect so no one can judge others mistakes.
it's made out to be a bad thing. sex education is painfully limited. ignorance prevails. that's what i mean about repressed. people don't talk about it, it isn't open like in many south american countries. that's what i was getting at.... that very much leads to unplanned pregnancies and things of that nature
this is no where near the same thing as Secret Life. That is a scripted show with scripted drama. these are real firls who have to deal with this. i went to school with one of these girls and the father to her child died in a car crash last winter...does that really even compare the Secret Life's fake stories and bad acting ??
